An analysis of DeSantis’ record on local and national security shows an outstanding commitment to limited government principles. As a congressman, DeSantis supported the defunding of sanctuary cities and blocked efforts to shutdown Guantanamo Bay. As Governor, he signed executive actions to stop the mass migration of illegal immigrants and signed a bill to force local cooperation with federal immigration authorities. Additionally, DeSantis vetoed multiple dangerous criminal justice “reforms” which have led to skyrocketing crime rates in other states and are advanced by radical left-wing billionaires through funding to liberal – and even some conservative – advocacy organizations.
