An analysis of Trump’s record on local and national security shows a very strong commitment to limited government principles. As President, he deployed an outstanding “peace through strength” foreign policy which included minimal overseas intervention. Additionally, he issued countless executive orders and other actions to strengthen the border and combat sanctuary cities. However, Trump’s First Step Act and strong backing of criminal justice reform led to a movement of extreme criminal code changes in state legislatures. This effort pushed by radical left-wing billionaires through their funding to liberal – and even some conservative advocacy organizations – has resulted in spiking crime rates across the country.
