This bill reduces the period of inactivity required for a person to be removed from the active early voting list, which is a list of voters who are automatically mailed a ballot for each election they are eligible to vote in. Under the bill, voters are removed from the list if they do not vote an early ballot in any election during an election cycle (previously two cycles). Finally, employers are required to report previous employees for actions, such as refusing to return to work or failing to appear for a scheduled interview. Support is the Limited Government Position as combatting fraud within the state's unemployment insurance system is critical to maintaining low payroll taxes for businesses, which are forced to pay into the system. While unemployment insurance should not be carried out by government - rather, a system should be established whereby individuals and companies can purchase into a program on the private marketplace - lawmakers have a duty to maintain the integrity of the system.
